Beats has introduced a new version of its wireless earbuds, now named the Powerbeats Fit. This model builds upon the Fit Pro, which was released in late 2021. A key enhancement is the redesigned wing tip, which Beats claims is 20 percent more flexible than its predecessor, potentially contributing to improved comfort and stability during use. The new wingtip reportedly offers a level of stability comparable to the over-ear hook featured in the Powerbeats Pro 2, while maintaining a retail price below $200.
The Powerbeats Fit continues to utilize Apple’s H1 wireless chip, unlike the more expensive Powerbeats Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3 that are equipped with the newer H2 chip. Despite this, users will still benefit from features such as one-touch pairing, hands-free Siri access, Find My tracking, and iCloud syncing for Apple devices. Android users can also enjoy one-touch pairing through the Beats mobile app, along with customizable controls, a Fit Test for selecting the appropriate ear tip size, and location tracking capabilities.
While the overall design of the Powerbeats Fit is not drastically different from the Beats Fit Pro, the charging case has been reduced in size by 17 percent, facilitating easier portability without compromising battery life. Battery performance remains a strong feature, with the earbuds providing up to seven hours of playback on their own, and up to 30 hours when used with the charging case. However, this drops to six hours with active noise cancellation (ANC) enabled, and up to 24 hours with the case.
The earbuds maintain an IPX4 rating for sweat and water resistance, meaning they are not waterproof. While the ANC performance may not match that of the AirPods Pro 3, the Powerbeats Fit includes transparency mode, personalized Spatial Audio with head tracking, and adaptive EQ to tailor sound based on surrounding noise and the earbud fit.
