Vivo X300 Pro launches with an Ultra-rivaling camera

Vivo has introduced its new flagship smartphones, the X300 and X300 Pro, which appear similar to its higher-end Ultra models. The Pro variant features a camera setup comparable to that of the previous X200 Ultra, including support for an add-on telephoto lens that was first introduced with the X200 Ultra.

Both models focus heavily on photography. The X300 Pro contains a new 200-megapixel HPB imaging sensor developed in partnership with Samsung, used in its telephoto camera. In comparison to the X200 Ultra’s, the Pro’s telephoto camera has a slightly slower f/2.67 aperture. The main camera of the Pro may exceed the Ultra’s capabilities as it is equipped with the Sony LYT-828 sensor, which boasts a faster aperture.

However, the ultrawide camera in both models is noted as a downgrade, featuring a smaller sensor that may affect image quality, particularly in low-light conditions. All three rear cameras on both devices have the ability to record video in 4K at 120 frames per second, along with 10-bit Log video recording. These features suggest that the X300 Pro is positioned as a significant offering from Vivo, following the success of the Ultra models.

The standard X300 also presents strong camera capabilities, using the same 200-megapixel sensor for its main camera and pairing it with a fast f/1.68 aperture. It includes a 50-megapixel telephoto camera and similar ultrawide and selfie cameras as the Pro.

Both smartphones are powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset and share specifications for charging and durability ratings, including 90W wired and 40W wireless charging. The X300 Pro has a 6.78-inch display compared to the X300’s 6.31 inches, and both models are slim, with thicknesses below 8mm. The Pro has a larger battery capacity at 6,510mAh compared to the X300’s 6,040mAh, with Vivo claiming comparable longevity to larger batteries in other devices.

Currently, the X300 starts at ¥4,399 (around $620), while the Pro is priced at ¥5,299 (around $745). Both devices are available for order in China, and Vivo has not yet detailed plans for wider international availability. An X300 Ultra is anticipated to launch in early 2026.
