Vivo recently announced that its flagship smartphones, the X300 and X300 Pro, will be available internationally just two weeks after launching in China. This marks a quicker global rollout than what is typically observed from the brand. The new models will be on sale in several European countries, and they will feature OriginOS, Vivo’s Android-based operating system that was previously exclusive to the Chinese market.
OriginOS first premiered in China in November 2020 and has since evolved to version 6.0. Prior to this launch, Vivo’s international customers have been using the older Funtouch OS, which has been criticized for its basic features and design. The transition to OriginOS brings a more colorful and user-friendly experience. The latest version includes enhancements such as a customizable lockscreen with depth effects and widgets, as well as a design that incorporates the “Dynamic Glow” feature.
In Europe, the X300 series will be sold in Austria, Spain, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Italy. The starting price for the X300 is €1,049 (approximately $1,200), while the X300 Pro is priced at €1,399 (around $1,600). With these new devices, Vivo aims to capture a larger share of the international smartphone market.
