Buttercup Pudding Bar & Bakery is set to establish a permanent location in Deansgate Square, Manchester, following the success of its pop-up events and over 5,000 puddings sold. The brand will operate at the General Store in partnership with HUBB Coffee, with the launch scheduled for December 3.
Founded in July 2025 by 22-year-old Natasha Black, Buttercup quickly gained popularity for its customizable pudding pots, featuring a signature banana pudding made from vanilla custard, sponge, and fresh banana. Customers can personalize their desserts with various toppings, including homemade cookie crumbles and sauces. Classic puddings are priced from £5.50 with toppings starting at 50p.
The residency, which marks Buttercup’s first permanent establishment, will include a rotating selection of pudding flavors while maintaining the classic banana pudding. Alongside this, a range of homemade bakes will also be offered daily. The partnership with HUBB Coffee aims to provide a combined experience of quality puddings and specialty coffee.
The General Store’s location operates from 12 pm to 7 pm, currently available for walk-ins. To celebrate the opening, Buttercup and HUBB will offer free servings of the classic banana pudding to the first 20 customers on December 6, and a special deal featuring a banana pudding paired with HUBB’s banana latte until 3 pm on the same day.
- Why it matters: Establishing a permanent location may enhance customer access to customizable desserts. This could signify trends in the food industry where personalized experiences drive consumer interest.
- The latest: Buttercup will celebrate its grand opening on December 6 by giving away free classic banana puddings to the first 20 customers.
