UP man jumps into pond to rescue driver from his sinking car Video goes viral

On Sunday, a significant rescue operation took place near Gauhania Pond in Pilibhit when an Ertiga car sank into the water with the driver, Shivam, trapped inside. Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle lost control and submerged within moments, prompting a large crowd to gather by the pond. As panic ensued among the onlookers, two individuals—a passerby and a nearby boatman—entered the water to assist.

The rescue, captured in a video that has since gone viral, depicted a short but intense struggle during which the duo successfully pulled Shivam from the sinking vehicle, likely preventing a fatal outcome.

After the incident, City Magistrate Vijay Vardhan Tomar and police teams, along with fire brigade personnel, arrived at the scene. Shivam was quickly transported to a local medical college, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
