On August 24, Ukraine celebrated its Independence Day, a commemoration that has gained heightened importance since the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022. In recognition of this occasion, the Ukrainian Naval Band performed alongside the Band of the Scots Guards at Buckingham Palace.
The collaboration took place during the traditional changing of the guard ceremony on a recent Monday. The Scots Guards were in their customary red tunics and bearskin hats, while the Ukrainian naval personnel were attired in white uniforms.
The event was highlighted on social media by the UK’s Ministry of Defence, which expressed solidarity with Ukraine, stating, “We stand by you, Ukraine. Now and always.”
This performance not only marked a significant cultural exchange but also underscored ongoing international support for Ukraine during a turbulent period in its history.
