Tottenham reject buyout interest from third consortium led by US tech entrepreneur

Tottenham Hotspur has officially turned down an informal expression of interest from a consortium led by Brooklyn Earick, an American tech entrepreneur. This marks the third rejection from the club’s board since the recent departure of executive chairman Daniel Levy. Enic Sports & Developments Holdings Ltd, which holds nearly 87% of Tottenham, released a statement asserting that the club is not for sale and that Enic does not plan to sell its stake.

Earick has sparked further speculation by sharing an image of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’s dressing room on social media, accompanied by a countdown timer to October 24. According to UK takeover and merger regulations, following a rejected interest, Earick’s consortium is required to either submit a formal offer by that date or declare that it will not proceed.

Earick has a diverse background, having previously worked as a DJ and in spacecraft research for NASA. He is also the founder of Redacted RnD, a firm focused on technology, media, sport, and entertainment. The ownership structure of Enic includes the family of UK businessman Joe Lewis, who owns a substantial majority, while approximately 30% is held by Levy and his family.

A source connected to the Lewis family reiterated that the club remains off the market and indicated that the unsolicited interest does not affect their commitment to the club’s success. Earlier in September, Tottenham also rejected bids from Amanda Staveley’s PCP International Finance Limited and a consortium led by Dr. Roger Kennedy.

Manager Thomas Frank has expressed confidence about the club’s future, citing clear communication from both the Lewis family and chief executive Vinai Venkatesham regarding the club’s non-sale status. Levy, who served as the Premier League’s longest-serving chairman, has faced criticism from fans, particularly in recent seasons, despite the club’s recent achievement of winning a trophy after a 16-year wait.
