Tim Cook says more AIs are coming to Apple Intelligence

Apple’s software Senior Vice President Craig Federighi previously indicated that the company is considering third-party integrations, with a specific mention of collaborating with models like Google Gemini in future releases. CEO Tim Cook has since confirmed that Apple plans to launch an AI-enhanced version of Siri next year, expressing an intention to partner with additional entities over time. During a recent earnings call, Cook noted that Apple is making “good progress” on Siri and remains open to potential mergers and acquisitions that could support its strategic goals.

This announcement follows the release of Apple’s fourth-quarter earnings report, which indicated the company achieved a record revenue of $102.5 billion for the past quarter, an eight percent increase from the previous year. The report suggests that sales from the newly launched iPhone 17 lineup contribute only a minor portion of the overall iPhone revenue, which totals $49.03 billion. The iPhone 17 lineup features the new iPhone Air, described as Apple’s thinnest device, alongside the upgraded iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro models. Notably, this year’s entry-level iPhone includes features traditionally found in Pro models, including always-on display and ProMotion support for enhanced scrolling experience.

Additionally, Apple reported Mac revenue of $8.72 billion and generated $6.95 billion in iPad sales. The company’s services segment, encompassing subscriptions for platforms such as Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Fitness Plus, and Apple Arcade, grew to $28.8 billion. This comprehensive approach reflects Apple’s ongoing commitment to expanding its product offerings and integrating advanced technologies.
