During a performance in Japan on September 27, Ne-Yo faced an unexpected interruption when a man attempted to rush the stage and pose beside him while he was singing “Because of You.” A video of the incident shows Ne-Yo quickly moving the individual aside and continuing his performance, while security addressed the situation shortly thereafter.

Following the event, Ne-Yo shared a message on his Instagram Story, reiterating the boundaries he maintains as a performer. He emphasized that such behavior is unacceptable and expressed frustration over the encounter. Ne-Yo indicated that the outcome might have been different had the individual approached him in a friendlier manner.

In a separate discussion, Ne-Yo addressed his current relationships, revealing he is involved in a polyamorous arrangement with four partners. This lifestyle change followed his 2023 divorce from Crystal Renay, which was reportedly influenced by infidelity issues.

Ne-Yo stated, “I’m 45 years old… everything I do is about what’s best for me, what’s best for my kids, what’s best for my tribe.”
