EA has announced that it will discontinue the mobile version of The Sims, with the final update released today. The game will no longer be accessible starting January 20, 2026. Upon this date, the game’s servers will cease operation, rendering it unplayable.
The mobile version was first launched in 2018 and has received over 50 updates since its inception. As of today, players are prohibited from making any in-game purchases. Furthermore, the game will be removed from both iOS and Android platforms, effective tomorrow, prior to the eventual server shutdown.
This decision is part of a broader period of transition for the franchise, raising questions about the future of The Sims series in other formats and whether fans will see new mobile offerings in the future.
