Steam store pages are wider now

Valve has launched an update to its Steam store pages, increasing their width from 940 pixels to 1200 pixels. This change is intended to offer a more balanced display of content without compromising navigation, according to the company’s assessment.

The updated store pages are designed to automatically adjust in size if the browser or client window is narrower than 1200 pixels. Valve indicates that the pages will adapt to fit various devices including tablets, Steam Decks, and mobile devices. The company reportedly tested the changes on older devices, such as an iPod, where it found that while functionality is maintained, text and images may appear smaller.

This update follows recent enhancements to the Steam Trailer Player, introduced in July, which included a more adaptable user interface and improvements in video processing. Valve has not detailed what specific feedback prompted the decision to widen store pages or how users have responded to the update.
