Samsung’s trifold gets a name and ‘confirmed’ specs

Evan Blass, a well-known technology leaker, recently shared details on the anticipated Samsung trifold phone, reportedly named the “Galaxy Z TriFold.” According to his insights, the device will feature a 6.5-inch cover display capable of achieving a brightness of up to 2600 nits. When unfolded, it reveals a 10-inch internal display with a peak brightness of 1600 nits. Additionally, the Galaxy Z TriFold is expected to include a 200-megapixel main camera, a 5,437mAh battery, and a Snapdragon system on a chip (SoC).

Blass also noted that the thickness of the phone’s three panels will range from 3.9mm to 4.2mm, resulting in a total thickness of approximately 12.1mm when folded. This measurement is slightly thinner than the Huawei trifold, which is 12.8mm thick.

However, it is important to note that these details remain unofficial until Samsung makes an official announcement. Previous rumors regarding the launch of Samsung’s first trifold phone have surfaced and dissipated, with the most recent speculation pointing to a launch date of December 5th in South Korea. The expected price of the device is around $3,000.
