The Ogun State Police command has arrested Fatai Quadri following a viral video that recorded him assaulting his wife, Rukayat Quadri, at their home in Illese-Ijebu on September 15, 2025.
According to police spokesperson Omolola Odutola, the suspect was apprehended by officers from the Igbeba Divisional Police Headquarters, Ijebu Ode. The altercation reportedly stemmed from marital disputes related to accusations of infidelity.
Further investigation revealed that Quadri had transferred ownership of a jointly built 10-room en-suite apartment to another woman, which escalated the conflict and ultimately led to the assault. Rukayat Quadri is currently receiving medical attention for the injuries sustained during the incident. The suspect remains in police custody and is expected to face charges once the investigation is complete.
