Tucker Carlson asks Sam Altman if an OpenAI employee was murdered ‘on your orders’

OpenAI’s GPT-5.2 is its latest front in the agentic AI battle

OpenAI has officially launched GPT-5.2, with the aim to enhance economic value for users. CEO Fidji Simo mentioned that the model had been in development for several months. The company claims that GPT-5.2 is its most advanced model for everyday professional tasks, targeting competitors like Google’s Gemini 3.

The GPT-5.2 series, which includes Instant, Thinking, and Pro models, is said to perform better in various functionalities such as creating spreadsheets, building presentations, and coding. Aidan Clark, OpenAI’s VP of research, reported that a senior immunology researcher found the model generated notably insightful questions in their field, positioning GPT-5.2 as a strong tool for specialized inquiries.

OpenAI has indicated that GPT-5.2 supports improved workflows for AI agents, reflecting the ongoing competition among AI companies for dominance in creating efficient assistants. The Thinking model is noted to have fewer errors compared to earlier versions, which is essential for professionals seeking reliable AI tools. Companies such as Notion, Box, and Zoom were early testers of this release.

The launch follows closely after GPT-5.1, which focused on enhancing conversational tone through personality presets. OpenAI asserts that users will find GPT-5.2 more structured and enjoyable in daily interactions.

Amid increasing competition from Google, OpenAI is reportedly planning to introduce two new models next year, one of which is called Garlic. CEO Sam Altman has emphasized prioritizing improvements to ChatGPT over other initiatives, including advertising.

Additionally, OpenAI has secured a three-year licensing agreement with Disney, allowing for user-generated content featuring various Disney characters, further positioning itself as a major player in the AI landscape. The company is also in preliminary testing of an age-prediction model aimed at ensuring user safety for minors, with plans to launch an “adult mode” in 2026. GPT-5.2 will be available gradually for paid users, allowing for a smooth transition from the legacy GPT-5.1 model.
