A video featuring a man from the United States expressing surprise at the prevalence of Indian-origin workers at London’s Heathrow Airport has sparked discussions online. While on a layover at the airport, he noted that he did not see any British employees among the staff he encountered.

Posted under the Instagram handle “Immigrateful,” the video has received over 558,000 views. In the footage, he remarks that all personnel he interacted with—from security to retail staff—appeared to be of Indian descent. He acknowledged their courtesy and efficiency but questioned the lack of native British representation.

He stated, “I just landed in London. I’m at the airport… I don’t see any British people working. Not one.” The man later emphasized that his comments were not meant to be racist but rather posed a “legitimate question” regarding local workforce representation. As an immigrant, he expressed a desire to see locals employed in countries he visits.

The video prompted varied reactions on social media. Some users pointed out the diversity of backgrounds among individuals appearing Indian, urging the video creator to be cautious in making assumptions about ethnicity.

This issue is not new; similar concerns were raised previously when a British woman criticized Heathrow staff for communicating in Hindi.
