Netflix is set to introduce multiplayer party games for its subscribers through television this holiday season. The company announced a selection of five games that will be accessible via a new tab, with players using their smartphones as controllers. Netflix describes the gameplay experience as straightforward, akin to watching a show.

The initial lineup includes several titles, such as the recently launched Lego Party, Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends, which has similarities to Among Us, and adaptations of popular games like Boggle and Pictionary. Additionally, Tetris Time Warp is featured, which appears to be based on a minigame from Digital Eclipse’s Tetris Forever collection, released the previous year.

Though Netflix has engaged in game development for some time, it has primarily focused on mobile gaming. It was only in early 2025 that the company indicated a shift towards prioritizing cloud-based party games.

During the Game Developers Conference in March, Alain Tascan, the CEO of Netflix’s gaming division, highlighted multiplayer games as one of the four foundational aspects of the company’s current gaming strategy. This strategy also encompasses narrative-driven titles, child-friendly games, and mainstream experiences like Squid Game: Unleashed. Tascan noted the focus on these elements initially, with the possibility of expanding the lineup in the future if viable.

While there is no confirmed launch date for the first set of multiplayer television games, Netflix has indicated that they will be available soon.
