Netflix, Amazon, and Apple are reportedly interested in buying Warner Bros.

Three tech companies—Netflix, Amazon, and Apple—are reportedly interested in acquiring Warner Bros. Discovery, whether in full or by purchasing specific assets, including its content libraries and production resources, as noted by Bloomberg.

Recently, Warner Bros. Discovery announced it is conducting a review of strategic alternatives aimed at maximizing shareholder value due to unsolicited interest from various parties, including bids for the entire company as well as for specific divisions. In light of these inquiries, WBD is preparing nondisclosure agreements to share financial data with potential buyers.

Sources inform Bloomberg that Warner Bros. Discovery has rejected three offers from Paramount, with one reaching up to $24 per share. Paramount recently concluded a merger with Skydance Media, a process that was met with some controversy.

Warner Bros. Discovery’s portfolio includes well-known properties such as HBO, CNN, and DC Studios, any of which might be subject to sale. Given the complexities surrounding the recent Paramount-Skydance merger, it may be difficult to find a suitable buyer for the entirety of WBD. In addition, WBD has announced plans to separate its cable television and streaming businesses next year, which may impact potential acquisition strategies moving forward.
