Acer has introduced the Chromebook Plus Spin 514 at IFA 2025 in Berlin. This model marks the company’s first use of the Arm-based MediaTek Kompanio Ultra 910 processor, which has been noted for its performance and battery efficiency in previous models, such as the Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14.
The Chromebook Plus Spin 514 features a Gorilla Glass-covered 14-inch touchscreen, supporting USI 2.0 styluses for drawing and note-taking. It offers two display resolution options: 1920 x 1200 and 2880 x 1800. While these displays may not match the quality of OLED panels found in some competitors, the device emphasizes versatility with its convertible design.
In terms of connectivity, the device includes two 10Gbps USB-C ports with DisplayPort and Power Delivery, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It is equipped with a 70Wh battery, surpassing the Lenovo’s 60Wh capacity. Additionally, it supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Users can choose between a 1080p or a 5-megapixel webcam.
However, the Chromebook Plus Spin 514 lacks a side-mounted power button, which some users might find inconvenient when using the device in tablet mode, as access to the power button requires reaching around to the keyboard. The device’s up-firing speakers are situated on the keyboard deck, potentially compromising audio performance in tent or tablet configurations.
The Chromebook Plus Spin 514 is priced at $699.99 and is expected to launch this month.
