A man has been arrested in connection with a cyber-attack that resulted in significant disruptions at multiple European airports, including Heathrow. The National Crime Agency (NCA) reported that a 40-year-old individual was taken into custody in West Sussex as part of an ongoing investigation related to a cyber incident affecting Collins Aerospace.
The cyber-attack led to considerable delays in flights, as the baggage and check-in software utilized by several airlines experienced failures. Consequently, passengers at the impacted airports were boarded using manual methods, such as pen and paper.
The NCA has indicated that its investigation is still in the early stages, and further details may emerge as the inquiry progresses.
