Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar are the leading nominees for the 2026 Grammy Awards, with Lamar receiving nine nominations and Gaga seven. This year’s event also marks the first time K-Pop has entered the song of the year category, featuring Rosé and Bruno Mars’ song “APT” and Hunter/x’s “Golden” from the animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters.
Lamar’s nominations include album of the year for GNX, while Gaga is nominated for the same category with her album Mayhem, which references her electro-pop roots. Both artists have previously garnered multiple nominations for this award but have yet to win in this category. Lamar, known for his previous work Not Like Us, has been recognized heavily this year and could achieve a milestone if he takes home album of the year, as it would be the first rap album to win since 2004.
In addition to Lamar and Gaga, notable nominees include Bad Bunny, whose album Debí Tirar Más Fotos is nominated for album of the year, making it just the second Spanish-language album shortlisted in this category. Other nominees include Tyler, The Creator with Chromakopia and Clipse with Let God Sort Em Out.
The Grammy Awards have also introduced several categories this year. Nominees for song of the year include Gaga, Doechii, and Billie Eilish, among others. British artists such as Olivia Dean and Lola Young have received nominations for best new artist, while the Isle of Wight band Wet Leg is up for multiple alternative prizes.
For the first time since 2006, Taylor Swift is not eligible for any nominations, as her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, was released after the qualification cut-off date.
Voting for the awards involved nearly 15,000 industry professionals and will culminate in a ceremony scheduled for February 1, 2026, in Los Angeles.
