Apple adds a new toggle to make Liquid Glass less glassy

iOS 26.1 lets you tweak Liquid Glass, and it’s out now

Recent updates have introduced several new features and enhancements across various platforms. One notable addition is the Liquid Glass setting, which allows users to select between a default clear appearance or a tinted option that increases the opacity of materials in applications and notifications on the Lock Screen.

Additionally, Live Translation support has been expanded for AirPods to include languages such as Chinese (both Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean, and Italian. In Apple Music, users can now utilize a MiniPlayer swipe gesture to navigate to the next or previous track, as well as benefit from AutoMix support over AirPlay.

Recording capabilities have been improved, with gain control being accessible for external USB microphones during local captures. Users also have the flexbility to save local capture files to specified locations. For fitness enthusiasts, a manual workout logging feature has been integrated directly into the Fitness app, allowing for more personalized tracking.

Regarding camera functionality, there is a new setting that permits users to turn the Lock Screen swipe to open the Camera feature on or off. Furthermore, FaceTime audio quality has been enhanced, particularly in low-bandwidth situations, improving overall call clarity.

Lastly, default settings for existing child accounts aged 13 to 17 now include Communication Safety and web content filters, which aim to restrict access to adult websites. These features are applicable in various regions, with age specifications varying accordingly.
