Insta360 has introduced a range of new accessories for its 8K Ace Pro 2 action camera, which now includes three new lenses aimed at enhancing its video capabilities, along with a redesigned grip and a compact wireless printer for instant photo development. These accessories will be made available today as part of four bundled offerings that also include the action camera.
The new Pocket Printer, comparable in size to other portable instant printers, utilizes dye-sublimation technology instead of traditional printing methods. It pairs with the Ace Pro 2 via Bluetooth, producing 3-inch prints at 300 dpi that are waterproof and fade-resistant due to a lamination process. However, prints feature the Ace Pro 2 logo on their borders, which may not be removable. Replacement printing cartridges are priced at $9.90 for a set of 20.
The Pocket Printer can function independently or be attached to the Ace Pro 2 using a quick-release mount on the Xplorer Grip Pro, enhancing ease of use reminiscent of Polaroid cameras. This new grip, which connects via a USB-C port, features an intuitive shutter button and zoom lever, improving on a previously released version with a different design.
Additionally, the Xplorer Grip Pro includes a customizable dial for adjusting exposure and houses a secondary battery that extends the camera’s recording time to approximately 2.5 hours at 4K/60fps.
Insta360 is also launching new cinematic, ultrawide, and close-up lenses, along with Leica color profiles and digital filters through an upcoming firmware update. Initially, the accessories are available only in bundles, with the base package starting at $518.99 for the Xplorer Pro Bundle, which includes the camera and grip. Other bundles range up to $739.99 for the Ultimate Videography Bundle, offering multiple lenses. Currently, only the Xplorer Pro Bundle is available in the U.S., while others are accessible globally.
