Footage has emerged showing a house being carried away by the ocean after the remnants of Typhoon Halong impacted Alaska over the weekend. Following its passage across the Pacific Ocean, the storm generated hurricane-force winds, resulting in one confirmed fatality and two individuals reported missing.
The severe weather conditions prompted emergency response efforts, leading authorities to rescue approximately two dozen residents from homes that had been displaced and swept into the sea. Reports indicate that around 1,300 people were affected by the storm’s impact.
Brea Paul, who recorded the footage on October 12 in Kipnuk, noted witnessing around 20 other homes adrift overnight. She described an unsettling scene in which some of these houses appeared to signal for help by flashing their phone lights, although she and others were unable to assist them.
This situation highlights the challenges residents face during extreme weather events and the ongoing need for effective emergency management strategies.
