Brierley Hill Library in Dudley is hosting a Halloween costume swap aimed at assisting families with the costs associated with Halloween. The initiative allows families to exchange used children’s Halloween costumes at no charge until October 31.
Library staff have noted that a similar costume exchange held for World Book Day received positive feedback from the community. Rocco De Gregorio, the manager of Brierley Hill Library, stated that the program is designed to alleviate some of the financial pressure on parents who need to provide costumes for various occasions. He explained that families can bring in outfits that their children have outgrown and select another costume without the added expense of purchasing new ones.
Councillor Damian Corfield, the cabinet member for neighbourhoods, remarked on the benefits of the program, mentioning that it supports families while also encouraging sustainability and community engagement. He expressed pride in the library’s efforts to provide meaningful support to local residents and noted that this Halloween costume swap illustrates how simple ideas can have a significant impact.
The library operates during the following hours: 09:00 to 18:00 BST on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays; 09:00 to 17:00 BST on Wednesdays and Fridays; and 09:00 to 16:00 BST on Saturdays.
