Ford’s F-150 Lightning has faced a challenging year, with sales declining nearly 10 percent compared to the previous year. In response to customer feedback, Ford has introduced a new appearance package named STX, aimed at rekindling interest in its electric truck.
The STX package replaces the XLT variant in the Lightning lineup. It features dual motors and an extended range battery that allows for an EPA-estimated range of 290 miles. Performance-wise, it boasts 536 horsepower and 775 lb.-ft. of torque, alongside a standard rear e-locking differential.
In an effort to enhance ruggedness, Ford incorporated various features from its F-150 line, including off-road running boards from the F-150 Tremor, as well as new wheels and all-terrain tires specifically designed for the electric model.
The STX also includes a redesigned grille, blue accent lines, and distinct STX badging. Additionally, customers can choose a black vinyl floor for added protection while utilizing the truck for practical purposes. The new STX is available in two new color options: Argon Blue and Marsh Gray, along with the existing paint choices.
Will Marchand, Ford’s product and consumer marketing manager for the Lightning, indicated that customers have expressed a desire for a more rugged version of the F-150 Lightning with increased range compared to the standard XLT. Until now, those wanting such features often relied on aftermarket modifications. Ford aims to address this demand with the introduction of the STX.
The STX package is set to arrive at dealerships in early 2026 and will be priced starting at $63,345. Ford anticipates it will become a strong seller based on internal projections.
