The 61-year-old actress expressed concern over negative comments targeted at her and her family, which motivated her to encourage others to engage in more constructive dialogue.

In her Instagram post, Murphy emphasized that she had not undergone any cosmetic surgery or used makeup for the photo, stating, “This is 61…WITHOUT a facelift, without any makeup.” She wished to portray a message about kindness and to counter the tendency of online negativity. Despite acknowledging that she enjoys makeup, Murphy stated she does not want to be labeled as an advocate for or against cosmetic procedures.
