Anthropic recently announced upgrades for its Claude Enterprise and Teams customers, allowing access to increased usage and Claude Code within a single subscription. This development follows the company’s implementation of rate limits for Claude, which are set to take effect on August 28. The upgrades aim to furnish users with enhanced admin controls and a new Compliance API, designed to improve access to usage data and customer content for better governance and monitoring.
According to Anthropic, the new package will facilitate a seamless transition between ideation and implementation for users, while providing admins with essential oversight capabilities to effectively scale the use of Claude across organizations. The premium features will be separate from the standard seats available to all users, allowing administrators to assign premium seats based on role requirements.
While the announcement of additional upgrades has elicited questions and criticism regarding the existing rate limits, Anthropic explained that these measures aim to enhance overall performance and deter system abuse by limiting excessive usage of Claude and Claude Code. The company stated that premium seats will retain the existing usage limits similar to those applied to users of Max 5x.
Additionally, enterprise customers are encouraged to utilize new admin and compliance controls integrated into the package, aimed at resolving the challenges of balancing speed and governance in workflow processes. These tools allow IT administrators to manage users, set spending controls, and access detailed analytics on usage patterns within Claude Code.
The Compliance API further supports organizations in regulated sectors by providing necessary access to usage data for monitoring and policy enforcement, thereby simplifying compliance processes across different operational frameworks.
