At least 16 individuals have died following a derailment of a funicular cable railway in Lisbon, Portugal, which subsequently struck a building. Authorities report that over 20 other people sustained injuries in the incident. Among those injured are four Portuguese nationals, two German nationals, and two Spanish nationals, while a three-year-old child is also among the injured.
