Electronic Arts’ Battlefield 6 launched in October 2023 and is currently on sale for $52.99 ($17 off) for the PlayStation 5 at Amazon. Best Buy is offering the game for $59.99 ($10 off) for both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions.
The game has reportedly achieved significant sales success, being recognized as the best-selling title in the Battlefield franchise to date. This is noteworthy given the competitive nature of the online shooter market, particularly following the underwhelming launch of Battlefield 2042 in 2021. Initial reactions to the single-player campaign of Battlefield 6 have been mixed, while the multiplayer feature appears to be a primary attraction. A major focus this year is on environmental destruction, which enhances the gameplay experience during large-scale battles.
In addition to Battlefield 6, EA has also introduced Battlefield Redsec, a free-to-play battle royale mode that operates on a large map named Fort Lyndon. The company has outlined plans for Season 1 of Battlefield 6, which will include new content such as a new map, a 4v4 multiplayer mode, and a new vehicle, along with other updates. EA is also set to release a Winter Offensive update on December 9, which will feature seasonal-themed content.
