Bang & Olufsen has unveiled its latest product, the Beo Grace earbuds, designed with a premium aluminum aesthetic and touted as featuring the brand’s most advanced active noise cancellation (ANC) system. Priced at $1,500, these earbuds utilize 12mm titanium drivers and are equipped with six microphones to adjust audio based on surrounding noise and the contours of the user’s ear.
The Beo Grace earbuds support Dolby Atmos spatial audio, which aims to enhance the listening experience, and include a transparency mode similar to that found in the Beoplay H100 headphones. This mode is intended to reproduce ambient sounds without distortion. Additional features include tactile controls and a unique “NearTap” technology, allowing users to adjust volume by tapping near their ear.
Battery performance is noted at 4.5 hours of use with ANC activated, which is shorter than the six hours claimed by the $499 Beoplay Eleven earbuds released the previous year. However, Bang & Olufsen has indicated that they collaborated with the battery intelligence company Breathe to enhance battery longevity, reporting that the Beo Grace earbuds exceeded 2,000 charge cycles in internal assessments.
Accompanying the earbuds is an aluminum charging case that doubles as an audio transmitter when connected via USB-C or line-in. This functionality enables users to stream audio from devices that do not support Bluetooth, such as certain airplane televisions or laptops. A leather pouch for the case is also available, marketed at an additional cost of $400.
Currently, the Beo Grace earbuds are available for preorder, with shipping set to commence on November 17th.
