AT&T is raising home internet prices for the second year in a row

AT&T has announced an increase in its internet service prices, with a $5 monthly hike set to take effect on December 1, 2025. This increase follows a prior $5 increase implemented in November 2024, and some customers may have experienced a similar rise as early as 2023.

In an email to customers, AT&T stated that the price adjustments are necessary to maintain the quality of service and support. Jim Kimberly, a spokesperson for the company, indicated that the adjustments are intended to account for rising operational costs. To mitigate the impact of these increases, AT&T is offering discounts to customers who enroll in Autopay and Paperless Billing, which can range from $5 to $10 depending on the payment method used.

Despite reporting $300 million in higher operating expenses in the last quarter, AT&T also reported significant profits, totaling $4.9 billion over three months and $12.3 billion for the entire year of 2024. It was noted that the new price increase will not affect customers who signed up within the last year or participants in the Access from AT&T program aimed at low-income households.

As a customer who signed up in 2022 for a monthly rate of approximately $80, the increase means that the cost will exceed $90 post-adjustment. Customers have been advised to review their account details on their monthly statements or through the AT&T website for further information about the new pricing structure and associated fees.
