New Delhi (Vishvas Team) – A social media video featuring former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in which he purportedly claims to be a devotee of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has gained significant traction on various platforms. However, Vishvas News has conducted an investigation and determined that the video has been misleadingly edited. In the original footage, Kejriwal identifies himself as a devotee of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, not PM Modi.
The edited video was initially shared by Facebook user ‘DK Gupta,’ who claimed that Kejriwal expressed admiration for Modi. The claim has been circulated widely, misrepresenting the context of Kejriwal’s statements. The original video, available on the Aam Aadmi Party’s official YouTube channel, was uploaded on December 19, 2024, and provides clarification at the 2.56-minute mark.
In addition, a news report from Times Now also corroborates this finding, noting that Kejriwal made his comments during a visit to the Bhagwan Valmiki Mandir in New Delhi. An AAP media coordinator confirmed that the viral post is indeed false.
- Why it matters: Misinformation like this can shape public perception and influence political dynamics, making it crucial for viewers to verify claims before sharing.
- The latest: AAP’s media coordinator has confirmed the authenticity of the original video, reiterating that the edited content circulating online is a fabrication.
