The AirPods Pro 3 are currently available for $239.99 at Amazon, reflecting a modest discount of $10 since their recent release. This model has reportedly introduced enhancements over the previous version in terms of fit, active noise cancellation, and audio quality.
The design modifications include a more angled shape for both the earbuds and tips, aimed at improving their fit in users’ ears. The tips incorporate foam that expands for a better seal and include a new XXS-sized tip to accommodate smaller ear sizes. Despite the foam, the tips primarily consist of silicone, facilitating easier cleaning and comfort.
Performance tests of the active noise cancellation function were conducted in various environments, including on a plane, in a noisy room, and at a concert. The AirPods Pro 3 demonstrated improved capabilities in reducing high-frequency sounds compared to earlier iterations. Regarding audio output, they reportedly offered satisfactory bass and enhanced performance for spatial audio content. Battery performance was also noted, as users experienced approximately 27 percent remaining after around six hours of continuous use with the noise cancellation feature activated, consistent with Apple’s estimated eight-hour battery life.
Additionally, the AirPods Pro 3 includes a heart rate monitoring feature utilizing built-in sensors. The heart rate data is tracked and integrated with the Apple Health app, showing results that align closely with conventional chest strap readings, though accuracy can vary based on the fit of the earbuds. The device carries an IP57 rating, indicating it is resistant to sweat and suitable for workouts. A Live Translation feature was launched alongside the earbuds, though its accuracy received mixed feedback.
