Amazon’s Fire TV Stick 4K is getting a new name soon

Amazon has expanded its offerings of 4K-capable streaming devices following a recent hardware event. The latest addition is the $39.99 4K Select, scheduled for release on October 15th. This new option joins the existing Fire TV Stick 4K and 4K Max models. The naming conventions of these devices may lead to confusion regarding their features and pricing, as the 4K Select is priced similarly to the 4K Max while the original 4K model is currently available for $24.99.

The Fire TV Stick 4K is noted for having advanced features such as Wi-Fi 6 support, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos, in addition to greater memory capacity. In an effort to distinguish this model further from the others, Amazon spokesperson Zack Brown announced that a new name for the Fire TV Stick 4K will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The rebranding aims to assist customers in making informed decisions regarding their purchases. Questions remain about what the new name might be, with some speculating possibilities such as “4K Plus” or “4K Alexa Plus Pro.”
