Afghanistan accuses Pakistan of ‘violating Kabul’s sovereign territory’

The Afghan Taliban has accused Pakistan of violating what they claim to be Kabul’s “sovereign territory,” labeling the actions as an “unprecedented, violent, and provocative act.” This allegation follows reports of two loud explosions heard in Kabul late on Thursday.

According to a statement released by the Taliban’s Defence Ministry, Pakistan also conducted an airstrike on a civilian market in the southeastern border province of Paktia, resulting in significant damage to various shops, as confirmed by local residents.

Pakistan has not publicly acknowledged or denied the reports of an attack inside Afghanistan. In response to the tensions, a high-ranking general from the Pakistani military held a press conference on Friday, alleging that Afghanistan is being utilized as a base for terrorist operations against Pakistan. He indicated that Pakistan would take “whatever necessary measures” to ensure the security of the country.

This situation raises questions about the ongoing security dynamics between the two nations, especially in light of the allegations and military statements.
