Nagpur: In response to viral videos showing a leopard near human habitation in Mihan, the forest department has initiated patrols in the area. The videos, claimed to be from Mihan, depict the leopard walking along a pavement and on internal roads within an organization.
Vinita Vyas, Deputy Conservator of Forests (Territorial), reported that staff are present in Mihan to verify the videos’ authenticity and gather information from witnesses. The forest department aims to determine whether the leopard is a transient visitor or a resident of nearby scrub forests. Should it be confirmed as a resident, plans will be made for its removal.
Further information is expected within three to four days as investigations continue.
