Recent filings with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) suggest that Apple is developing a new version of its Vision Pro headset. A diagram labeled as a “Head Mounted Device” appears to resemble the existing Vision Pro model, as noted by MacRumors.
While specific details remain limited, the upcoming device is identified by the model number A3416 and will reportedly support Wi-Fi 6, consistent with the original Vision Pro. In July, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman indicated that Apple could introduce this new headset as early as this year. It is expected to feature a redesigned strap aimed at reducing head and neck discomfort. Additionally, code unintentionally revealed by Apple suggests that this version may include a more powerful M5 processor.
Further developments in Apple’s wearable technology line have also been reported. According to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the company is in the early stages of creating a lighter and more affordable Vision “Air” model, anticipated to launch in 2027. In conjunction with these advancements, Apple is said to be exploring smart glasses similar to Ray-Ban Meta models, which are expected to incorporate voice control and gesture recognition functionalities.
As these rumors and filings circulate, questions remain regarding the precise launch dates, pricing, and features of these forthcoming devices.
