Amazon’s recent fall hardware event introduced several new products, including updated Echo speakers, Blink security devices, and a Kindle Scribe with a color display. Most of these devices are available for preorder, with shipping expected in the coming weeks.
Key highlights include the Echo Dot Max, which features a flat design and a redesigned sound system that reportedly delivers improved bass and better conversation detection, thanks to Amazon’s new AZ3 chip. Priced at $99.99, it supports Alexa Plus and is slated for release on October 29th.
The updated Echo Studio, positioned as Amazon’s best-sounding speaker to date, supports spatial audio and Dolby Atmos. Its smaller, spherical design boasts enhanced features and is also powered by the AZ3 Pro chip for environmental response capabilities. Available for preorder at $219.99, it will be released alongside the Echo Dot Max on October 29th.
Amazon unveiled the Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 11, featuring enhanced displays and upgraded cameras. The Show 8 has an 8-inch screen with 720p resolution, while the Show 11 offers an 11-inch display with 1080p resolution. Both devices double as smart home hubs and come with Alexa Plus, with prices set at $179.99 and $219.99, respectively, for their November 12th launch.
Additionally, the Fire TV Omni QLED was refreshed, boasting increased brightness and improved processing capabilities. It starts at $479.99 and will ship on November 5th. New series of budget TVs, including the 4-Series and 2-Series, were also announced with competitive pricing. The Fire TV Stick 4K Select, available for $39.99 and set for release on October 15th, was introduced as a budget streaming option.
In the Ring product lineup, new video doorbells and security cameras were announced, including the Ring Video Doorbell Plus with facial recognition features. Preorders are available for these devices, ranging from $179.99 to $249.99.
The event concluded with the introduction of the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft, Amazon’s first color-screen note-taking e-reader. No preorder details were mentioned, but it is expected to ship later this year.
