Microsoft is introducing the Security Store, a platform designed to provide security software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions and artificial intelligence (AI) agents. This initiative is part of Microsoft’s strategy to promote its Sentinel security platform to businesses, which will be supplemented by Microsoft Security Copilot AI agents developed by security teams to address evolving threats.
The Security Store will serve as a marketplace for security professionals to access and implement SaaS solutions and AI agents from Microsoft’s ecosystem partners. Notable partners, such as Darktrace, Illumio, Netskope, Perfomanta, and Tanium, will offer a range of solutions focusing on areas like threat protection, identity, and device management.
Many of these solutions will be compatible with Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Entra, Purview, and Security Copilot. This integration is expected to facilitate quicker onboarding processes for organizations that rely heavily on Microsoft’s security products, potentially reducing both procurement times and operational overhead.
In addition to the new store, Microsoft is enabling users of Security Copilot to create custom AI agents. Earlier this year, Microsoft released its own security AI agents, and now security professionals can utilize a tool resembling Copilot Studio to develop their agents. This process involves creating an AI agent through a series of prompts, allowing for no-code publishing. The newly created Security Copilot agents will also be accessible in the Security Store, expanding the offerings available to security teams.
