The Blink security camera app is down, but Amazon is working on it

The app for Amazon’s Blink security cameras is currently facing issues that hinder users’ access to their cameras, although recordings and notifications remain unaffected, according to Amazon spokesperson Emma Daniels. Users on various platforms, including Amazon’s general Blink support forum and the Blink Cameras subreddit, have reported encountering a vague error identified as a 503 status code.

Reports of this issue have come from users across multiple states, including California, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas, and Washington. A Reddit thread addressing the 503 error, which garnered over 150 comments, was first published at 4:54 PM ET. Additionally, Amazon’s support forum has seen several threads emerging in relation to the same error, with activity increasing over the past few hours.

Some users are also experiencing login issues with the Blink app. A user attempting to create an account encountered a 403 status code error. The problems appear to affect both new and existing users of the app, as similar complaints have been noted in user discussions.

In response to these concerns, Daniels stated, “We’re aware of an issue affecting Blink customers’ ability to use the Blink app, and are working diligently on a fix.” She advised customers to keep checking the app for updates. Furthermore, it has been suggested that the issue may also impact the Blink SmartHome Alexa skill.

As of now, it remains unclear when a resolution will be implemented or the specific cause of these issues.
