Ugreen’s new super slim wallet tracker has 5 years of battery life

Ugreen has introduced the FineTrack Slim Smart G wallet tracker, which maintains a thickness of 1.7mm, similar to two stacked credit cards. The device offers a significantly improved battery life, extending from 12 months in its predecessor to five years in this new model. However, unlike the earlier version, which was rechargeable and compatible with Apple’s Find My network, the FineTrack Slim Smart G solely operates within Google’s Find Hub network and does not feature a replaceable battery or charging capability. Once the battery is depleted, the tracker will become unusable.

The FineTrack Slim Smart G is thinner than some competitors, such as the Tile Slim, which measures 2.5mm and has a three-year battery life. While the rechargeable FineTrack Slim offers longevity between charges, all wallet trackers eventually contribute to e-waste due to non-replaceable batteries. It’s noted that consumers may consider upgrading to newer tracking technology after five years.

In terms of durability, the tracker boasts an IP68 rating for dust and waterproofing, allowing it to withstand immersion in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes, although it will not be trackable during this time. Additionally, it features an 80dB alarm designed to assist users in locating the device when it is nearby, which may be beneficial in scenarios where it is misplaced within the home or among other items.

The FineTrack Slim Smart G is currently available for purchase on Amazon for $25.99.
