Nanoleaf has expanded its product range to include two LED red light-emitting devices aimed at the beauty tech market. The new offerings are the Light Therapy Wand and the Light Therapy Panel. The company asserts that the Light Therapy Wand delivers professional facial benefits in a handheld form, while the Light Therapy Panel incorporates 160 high-focus LEDs for comprehensive body care.

Previously known for its smart home lighting solutions, Nanoleaf ventured into beauty products starting with a $150 LED face mask presented at CES this year. This move aligns with trends among home appliance manufacturers such as Dyson and Shark, which have also launched beauty products like hairdryers and styling tools.

The Light Therapy Wand, priced at $99.99, is currently available for preorder on the Nanoleaf website with expected shipments by mid-October. It is marketed as a “6-in-1 skincare power tool,” offering treatments through red, blue, and near-infrared light, as well as options for vibration, heating, and cooling. Features include rechargeable capabilities, adjustable intensity levels, and a built-in auto-off timer. Its design allows for targeted treatments on areas such as the neck or scalp, which may not be reachable with a face mask.

The Light Therapy Panel, retailing for $149.99, is designed to aid muscle recovery, enhance collagen production, alleviate joint stiffness, and facilitate deep cellular renewal. It employs dual wavelength technology (630nm red light and 850nm near-infrared light), offering four intensity levels and a customizable timer for treatment sessions ranging from 10 to 30 minutes.

Light therapy devices have gained popularity among skincare enthusiasts, raising questions about the efficacy of at-home devices compared to those used by medical professionals. While light therapy has shown potential in addressing various skin issues, it remains unclear how these consumer products measure against professional-grade equipment. However, Nanoleaf’s competitive pricing for LEDs may position its beauty products as some of the more affordable options available.
