iPhone 17 Surpasses iPhone 16 in First Weekend Pre-Orders
The iPhone 17 series, introduced on September 9, 2025, has shown strong pre-order demand, surpassing the first weekend pre-orders of the iPhone 16, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. This new series features the iPhone Air and was debuted during Apple’s “Awe Dropping” event, which also highlighted other products such as the Apple Watch Ultra 3 and AirPods Pro 3.
The integration of iOS 26 and Apple Intelligence, offering capabilities like live translation and advanced AI tools, has contributed to the iPhone 17’s appeal as consumers increasingly seek innovative technology. Although there have been reports of discounts on the iPhone 17 in China, the strong turnout at store openings indicates that brand loyalty and the pursuit of the latest advancements remain significant factors for many buyers.
The global launch of the iPhone 17, spanning over 50 countries including India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, the European Union, and the UAE, reflects Apple’s strategy to tap into a diverse market. There is considerable interest in both premium and standard models.
