The recent “Awe Dropping” event by Apple showcased the new iPhone Air and iPhone 17, alongside a comprehensive refresh of the Apple Watch lineup, which includes the Apple Watch SE 3, Series 11, and Ultra 3. All three watches are now available for preorder, with prices starting at $249 for the SE 3, $399 for the Series 11, and $799 for the Ultra 3. They will be shipped starting September 19.
Each of the new watches launches with watchOS 26, featuring a new Liquid Glass design and an AI-powered Workout Buddy to assist users during workouts. Users can clear notifications with a simple wrist movement. An update is also available for older models, from Series 6 and later, on September 15.
The Apple Watch SE 3 is the first update to the entry-level smartwatch since 2022 and features the S10 chip. It offers a fourfold improvement in scratch resistance, supports features like SOS and fall detection, and introduces a new Sleep Score feature to analyze sleep quality. The SE 3’s charging speed is reportedly double that of its predecessor, providing eight hours of battery life after a mere 15-minute charge.
The Apple Watch Series 11 maintains a similar appearance to the Series 10 but integrates a 5G cellular modem for the first time. It boasts enhanced scratch resistance and a heart rate sensor aimed at detecting blood flow and potential hypertension. Its battery life has been extended to 24 hours.
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 features a larger display with a reduced bezel size and can operate at a refresh rate as low as 1Hz. It supports satellite texting, allowing message sending and location sharing without cellular service. The Ultra 3 is available only in a 49mm case size, priced at $799.
Corrections have been issued regarding the pricing of the Series 11.
