The Thermomix TM7, launched in the United States at a price of $1,699, is the latest model from Vorwerk, succeeding the TM6, which has now been discontinued. This multifunctional kitchen appliance is designed to replace several countertop gadgets by offering a range of cooking functions such as weighing, chopping, whisking, steaming, sautéing, slow cooking, and fermenting.
A key feature of the TM7 is its 10-inch touchscreen, which is powered by a faster multicore processor. However, it does not include a physical dial, as all controls are integrated into the touchscreen. The device offers access to 200 built-in guided cooking recipes, with additional options available through a Cookido subscription that costs $65 annually.
The design of the TM7 has also undergone changes, featuring a sleek all-black appearance, the capability for open-lid cooking, and a larger steaming basket. Vorwerk has indicated that the underlying software platform for the TM7 has been completely reconstructed, allowing for future updates that may include enhancements such as voice control.
While the TM6 has been phased out, Vorwerk has assured customers of 10 years of support for the previous model. Given the TM7’s multifaceted functionality and premium pricing, consumers may consider how it fits into their cooking needs and budget.
