LG has announced the upcoming release of its first flagship RGB TV, named the Micro RGB evo TV, scheduled for 2026. The announcement follows the product’s recognition with a CES 2026 Innovation Award in November 2025. The Micro RGB evo TV will be available in sizes of 100, 86, and 75 inches, though pricing details for the U.S. market have not yet been revealed.
This new television will utilize an enhanced version of LG’s Alpha 11 processor, which has previously been featured in their high-end OLED models. The TV has received certification from Intertek, confirming it will achieve 100 percent gamut coverage of the BT.2020, DCI-P3, and Adobe RGB color standards. However, there is currently no information available regarding its peak brightness levels.
The upcoming CES and the year 2026 are expected to showcase a range of RGB TV models from various manufacturers. Notably, Hisense and Samsung had already presented their RGB TV models at CES 2025. Hisense introduced a 116-inch model, while Samsung launched its 115-inch Micro RGB TV in August. Other companies like TCL and Sony are also preparing to release their RGB TV models within the next year.
It is essential to distinguish that micro RGB technology is not to be confused with microLED technology. MicroLED uses individual microscopic LEDs for each pixel, whereas RGB technology clusters multiple red, green, and blue LEDs to illuminate groups of pixels. While these RGB displays enhance color quality and purity, they still require a filter to produce colors accurately for individual pixels.
Thus far, the RGB LED TVs demonstrated by Hisense and Samsung have received positive feedback for their vibrant image quality, although they tend to be large and expensive. The introduction of more models and smaller sizes by various manufacturers could potentially lower prices, making this technology more accessible to consumers.
