Discounted bus tickets are available for travelers in Hull during the Christmas period. The Hull Bus Alliance has introduced a group travel discount that commenced on Monday and will continue until December 31.
Stagecoach East Midlands and East Yorkshire Buses are offering the Hull Card Group ticket, which allows up to five people to travel together for £7, a reduction from the usual price of £14.90. This initiative aims to make travel more affordable amidst rising living costs.
The ticket permits unlimited travel on Stagecoach or East Yorkshire buses within Hull on the day it is purchased. Councillor Mark Ieronimo, who oversees transport and infrastructure at Hull City Council, noted that the scheme could assist residents in managing living costs while also addressing congestion in the area.
Ben Gilligan, managing director at East Yorkshire Buses, emphasized that this initiative provides families and friends a sustainable travel option, helping them avoid traffic delays and parking fees while benefiting from economical bus travel.
