Perplexity brings its Comet browser to Android

Perplexity has introduced its AI-powered browser, the Comet app, for Android users. This application, which is now available for download, features several functionalities similar to its desktop counterpart. One notable aspect is the integration of Perplexity’s AI assistant, which can be summoned while browsing the internet.

The Android version of Comet allows users to engage in voice mode, enabling them to discuss information present in their tabs and request the AI to generate summaries of displayed content. However, the app currently does not offer the capability to sync browsing history or bookmarks between its mobile and desktop versions. According to Beejoli Shah, a spokesperson for Perplexity, this feature is planned for implementation in the upcoming weeks.

Furthermore, Perplexity is aiming to expand the app’s functionalities by adding comprehensive support for additional features, such as a fully agentic voice mode and an integrated password manager. In the meantime, users can utilize Android’s existing password manager within the browser.
