The union claims these firings, which occurred on October 30, were an effort to thwart unionization efforts among staff.
In response to the accusations, the IWGB organized protests outside Rockstar’s offices in Edinburgh and London, describing the situation as a significant act of union suppression within the gaming industry. A spokesperson for Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, stated that the terminations were due to employees sharing confidential information, asserting that these actions were not connected to union activity.
The IWGB disputes this claim, asserting that the dismissed workers were involved in discussions about union formation.
