BU Alum’s Laundry Startup Goes Viral

Zachary Pozniak, a Binghamton University alum and mechanical engineering graduate, has gained significant popularity on social media platforms TikTok and Instagram under the handle @jeeves_ny. Since joining his family business, Jeeves New York, in 2018, Pozniak has transformed traditional fabric care into engaging content, reaching millions of viewers.

Jeeves New York, originally founded in London in 1969, focuses on high-end cleaning and restoration services. Pozniak’s father acquired the business in 2008, emphasizing a more specialized approach to dry cleaning. After several years in construction management, Pozniak recognized an opportunity to modernize the family business, particularly through social media.

In 2020, he began producing informative videos covering fabric care tips, such as interpreting laundry labels and the benefits of using less detergent. One of his most popular TikTok videos, which has garnered 2.9 million views, highlights washing machines that automatically dose detergent based on load size. Pozniak’s online presence has contributed to the company’s visibility, linking it to larger editorial pieces in the industry.

His social media success also led to co-authoring a book titled The Laundry Book: The Definitive Guide to Caring for Your Clothes and Linens, published in 2024. Pozniak and his father appeared on Good Morning America to promote the book.

Pozniak credits his education at Binghamton for shaping his problem-solving skills and work ethic, which he applies in both business and content creation.
